Changes to my computer over the last week:

New external 250GB drive to dump things on (why hello, Time Machine!)
RAM upgraded from... uh, something smallish... to 1.25GB total
OS upgraded from 3.9 to 10.5.6
Firefox finally upgraded from 2.whatever to 3.0.5

This is a 4 year old 1.2GHz G4, and it doesn't look that old to me! Sweet.

The extra ram will really help you out. osx eats ram like crazy but it's so worth it.
