Look, there's a reason they call it the idiot box, it sure makes me act stupid....

1. I accidentally saw about 20 minutes of Tess of the D'Urbervilles, and just as i was trying to remember why I wasn't going to watch that... oh jeez. I turned off the damn television. Then I found myself mentally rewriting Alec's dialogue in the style of Smoove B (there will also be cocktail sauce!) and then humming "Date Rape" to myself for the next 2 hours. And I only saw 20 minutes!

2. I just caught a 2 second clip of a movie before changing the channel... and then I flipped back because I knew I was ... whoever the hell plays Will Smith's girl in that movie. It was of course immediately reinforced by seeing Mary McDonnell and thinking "oh right, she's not President in this movie, though she's... uh, close?" Oh hey! It's like she's almost a President with a terminal illness, but not quite! *snort*

Oh hey, random bonus! A much younger Adam Baldwin is in ID4! Guess what he gets to do? SHOOT AT THINGS. I don't know that I would have recognized him if he wasn't firing a gun at something.

Man, look at all the flannel shirts and untucked t-shirts in this movie! I miss the 90s....

How many times have I SEEN this movie? I thought I hadn't watched it since the two times in the theater... and yet I can quote all the dialogue, and I'm talking dialogue that ISN'T ripped off from other movies.

The home office (aka Box City). And now I'm in the work office, so I'm safe. I think I wrote the ID4 parody during my senior year of high school, which I think was before I had internet, so yeah, you probably missed it. It was something like 30 pages of insanity, drawing in stuff from Deep and Sunken and all of the other parodies various people in the parody-writing circle had written as well as ID4. By the end, I think it was parodying itself.

I probably didn't see it then. Though if you ever sent a copy to Mara, I saw it that way!

Also, did I mention that the first time I saw ID4, it was in Kent, with Ris, while I was visiting over the summer? We drove his dad's old Mazda sportscar to the theater. Truly and wonderfully awesome, that was.

I can't imagine that I wouldn't have sent a copy to Mara, but then again, at 30 pages, maybe I didn't? (I must have shared it with SOMEBODY, though, and it would have been either Mara or Obi-Wan, if not both...)

That does sound awesome. (I think the first time I saw it, I was with my mom. *shrug*)
